Was it a seedy third World country and you knew you had that pot in your bag? Was it a close call with the police? A misguided hike gone bad?

Have you ever had any close calls on the road?

I have to take malarial prophylaxis for a 2 1/2 month trip to Peru. I have three choices of malarial prophylaxis. Malarone (way too expensive for me), doxycycline and mefloquine. My doctor recomends mefloquine as doxycyclin give a rash in the sun and he doesn't reccomend it for Peru.

So what I want to know is has anyone taken mefloquine? and what side effects have you had from it?

I have read to British National Formulary and have read all the possible side effects so I do not need a list. Just what people have actually suffered.

Thanks

Is anybody aware of any incidents in which a British Airways flight has crashed, because i'm going to be flying with them in October on an 18 hour flight and i'm just a bit reluctant to be on a flight for that long - (the way i see it, things that big and heavy aren't meant to be in the air for that duration of time). So any statistics or records which you may have or know of, which could ease my mind would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The smuggling of weapons, explosives and other prohibited items is the major concern here. Therefore detection or elimination of these items are the keys to preventing their use onboard any vessel or transport.

Any legal means, procedural or physical may be used. Be reasonable in your approach because you could become a victim of your own ideas :).

Thanks for participating.

I was at Kennedy Airport today, and saw a family traveing abroad with 4 or 5 very young children. What in the world are the airlines doing to help them find ways to feed young children and babies on the flights? Do they brong empty bottles and fill them with juice and milk? Do the flight attendants fill them up for them?

Funny story...

In the early 80's my parents went to Malta on holiday. They used to sell a lot of old artifects left over from WW2 there at the time. My brother bought an old decomissioned British hand grenade (he still has it).

When they went to the airport my mother actually had the hand grenade in her hand, waving it up above her head, and went to security with it saying "its ok its not real"....

Amazingly they let her on the flight with it. What do you think would happen now if someone tried that?
