everybody strips at the check in, gets issued paper clothes for the flight. LOL.

Assuming I had the power (which I do not and never will have):
1. I would prosecute every sexual assault (of both women and men) that is perpetrated under the guise of "necessary" or "random" body searches. As a corollary to this, I would ban underwire bras on commercial flights.
2. I would educate inspectors thoroughly on explosives, especially two-part explosives. We will never be able to produce a single device that will detect all explosives, yet, in a sense, we already have such a "device", an intelligent, honest, committed inspector.
3. Instead of attempting to disarm all passengers of any possible weapon, I would require that every adult passenger be armed before being permitted to board. This sounds bizarre and over-the-top, but it is surprising how docile a thug can become when he realizes that EVERYONE has the means to thwart him.
4. I would use profiling and ignore the hue and cry. We all use profiling, anyway, so controlled profiling seems to me to be more profitable than uncontrolled profiling.

And just who do we entrust to screen the screeners? And the baggage handlers? And the crews? And the US Postal authorities who place their mail bags onboad? And the catering trucks who deliver the passengers' meals? And the mechanics, fuel handlers, air traffic controllers, ticket takers, boarding agents, etc. etc. Any one of whom could have been compromised in some way to be an enemy of this country.
And what should be done about connecting carriers, either domestic or foreign? Maybe everyone on MY plane, train, ship, etc. has been screened, but how good was the screening by that OTHER carrier whose passengers (and baggage) are now joining me?

1.Airlines do the security and name checks at the time of issuing tickets.
2. No hand luggage. All should be checked through to final destination. Airlines will have onboard all basic requirements, as well as the duty free shops, so no need to carry anything except maybe an item or two in a plastic see-through bag.
3. Full list of passengers be reviewed by receiving country two days prior to take-off, and stand-by and last minute passengers have to check in 2 hours earlier than others to allow name checks. Flights close one hour prior to departure and manifest sent to receiving country for final check.

I think we are getting a little crazy with the security searches. Personally we are supposed to be in the land of the free, but lately I feel that we are in Iraq.
I just heard that women can not wear underwire bras on planes anymore because the wire could be used as a weapon.
If you think about it, anything can be used as a weapon if you know what you are doing. Will we soon be told to fly naked so that our shoes, clothes and undergarmets can not be used as weapons.
How far will we go as a country before our freedom is lost?
Personally, stop with the outrageous inspections. Know the basics can not be on an airplane. Scan the luggage that is being boarded.
I would like my Freedom back!!!

No carry on baggage. People wear a minimum of clothing (jumpsuits with no pockets and built-in slippers). No baggage on the plane. It would mean increasing passenger load on the primary plane and shiting ALL baggage to a second plane arriving at the same destination.
Of course, some of the delay at gates could be eased by pre-screening frequent travelers and entering their thumbprint and voice id in a security system. You come to the gate, set your hand on a screen and say your name and you get passed through. Same thing at the borders. Let's not waste time on the obviously innocent.

Allow free passage to all those who obviously aren't terrorists (i.e. elderly folks in wheelchairs, soccer moms with small children).
Yes, this means pulling aside all those who look like they could even remotely be up to something. I don't care if it's M. Night Shyamalan, search him!
Israel's airline, Il El, pulls you from the line if you so much as look at them wrong and guess what; you ain't gettin' on that plane. Don't hear about too many Il El jets getting blown up or hijacked, do you?
Sorry, Middle Easterners, but it's the only way that truly makes any sense. Blame your countrymen.

HIGHLY TRAINED INTEL-AGENTS and ELECTRONICALLY:
There are many means of inspecting without taking too much
time for that.
Take the Israeli airport Ben Gurion for example....
already at the entrance you have intel agents who are highly trained to take a good look at the faces of people in ANY AND EVERY vehicle that enters the area.
Then, when you enter the terminal, you don't SEE the cameras nor the electronic equip, but YOU KNOW it is there.
Yes, for some people who through inspection before flight it takes more time - mainly because they get confused or look stressed by the inspections - that causes SUSPICION... thus leading the agents to take more time to investigate...
When you come to Israel and pass through the inspection, you will see (and FEEL) that the security agents are NOT paranoid, nor under pressure. They do their job coolly and calmly and that helps get things going faster.

Sorry all you PC people----profile them!!!! I'm sick of watching the grannies and disabled being pulled out of line for searches while an obviously Arab male between 18-35 waltzes right on the plane. Oooh, don't offend the terrorist . . . . . . .
Since most Middle Eastern people give tacit approval to the terrorists by not opposing them, they're part of the problem, too. So, until we've wiped them out, we need profiling.

all passengers would have to walk through a super fast cat scan machine booth in order to detect metal weapons and a super fast mri machine booth to detect liquid weapons.
the only downside is that cat scan exposes the passenger to radiation. mri doesn't expose the passenger to radiation, but mri is much slower than cat scan and much too slow for screening an entire crowd of people very quickly.
super fast cat scan machines are already available- one could be designed for full body, walk thru security purposes.
however, a faster full body mri scanning machine has not been developed or modified for security purposes.
but if somebody could contain the cat scan machine in a walk-thru lead box and if somebody could build a faster mri machine, then this would be the best method of securing airports nationwide without the use of full body cavity searches- unless something on the cat scan or mri revealed something metallic or a liquid not normally found in the bowel.

I don't wann have to do this personally, but if everyone had to got through security buck naked and then was given a gown to wear that would make sure no one hid anything on their person.
What about everyone except the crew is sadated for the flight? No one can push a button on their cell phon bomb if they are alseep.
But let's face it there is no 100% safe way to make sure that stuff isn't gonna happen on plains, trains, busses, subways, ect.
