We are visiting family in England, August 2007. We are also planning on visiting another european city while we are there. We are looking to go for 4 nights. Any suggestions for places to go? And if so, what should we do while we are there? We are interested in food and wine, as well as culture, and sightseeing.

I'm studying in Maastricht, Netherlands and wanted to take a day trip to either Antwerp, Belgium or Cologne, Germany. I'll probably be in the city 11am - 7pm. I wanted to know which would be better for a day trip? And what should I do in that city? I would like to go in 2 days, so fast answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am visiting friends in London for my winter break and had been planning to buy an American hair straightener. However I am hesitant to do so because of travel and the fact that my parents live in continental Europe. I need to know if it is possible to buy a hair straightener that only needs an adapter and works successfully in either America & UK, America & Continental Europe or just UK & Continental Europe. All information appreciated esp. personal experience -- as someone who travels a lot I try to avoid the appliance question at all times because have heard too many horror stories (fuses blown, etc). Ideally, would buy straightener that works (WELL) in all 3 of these places with only an adapter. Thanks for your time!!

I'm planning to visit Tromso in Norway at some point over the winter (December-March). The main reason for my visit is to (hopefully!) see the Northern Lights. Could anyone tell me when the best time to go is? The best time being the time that will give me the best chance of seeing them!

We are students and live in the south of England. So if we did fly somewhere we would prefer it to be from; London, Exeter, Bristol, Bournemouth etc. We also (providing it's not too much more money) would consider hanging around for a couple of days before and after, so we're looking for somewhere with much to see.
