i just can't find a purpose for Romania, romanians, and all things romanian. Can you tell me if there really is a greater purpose for them in this world?

P.S. : For all you politically correct guys and gals around, i actually am Romanian, and have lived in this worm hole all my life. I think I have all the right in the world not to be very enthusiastic about it. trust me...i know what i'm talking about ;)

Ok dude, since you've gotten poor answers I'll let you in on some of the history I learned while in you country this summer. You know Sibiu? and the other walled cities in the west? Those places were built by German and Hungarian nobility who were sick of Germany and Hungary...these men (in the 14th-16th) century, exploited the peasants (who you know, make up 40% of your present society) and collected wealth in those walled cities. They thought that "romanian" or "roma" (gypsies) were a different ethinicity than themselves....and as you know, Romania was dominated by the Holy Roman Empire for centuries. Are romanians a different ethnicity...well, look at the women there, they are beautiful, and many have dark hair and eyes...they don't look like germans, and they don't look like turks...so, maybe they are different....
Yes, your country has some SERIOUS problems, environmental, economical, religious, and so on....but there are some cool things there too....Sibiu is beautiful, Sigishaora is lovely....
But, present romania is probably not a "country" in the same sense that France, Germany, and the USA (my own crap country) are...anyways....think 1989, wait 1995....before that...domination by the Russians! The romanians don't have it easy....why do you think all the ones that can use computers move to silicon valley?

don't forger...your language is unique...much like italian and english and latin....not like turkish, and the slavic languages...this is a major reason for romanian "identity"

The same reasons as the other countries in Europe.Just to be there.And Country can't be invented,it can be formed from people who had started to live in that area.

uh. countries arent invented but it was probably because a group of people wanted a government and like a group identity. wy do you think ther is america or england. romania is aroud for the same reason.
