I have done that trip, about a year ago, but on the other way: Krakow -Prague.
I didn't book ahead, i just arrived at the Krakow station a while before the train left and bought the ticket, I don't remember the price or the schedule, sorry.
You could seat wherever you wanted to, the train was almost empty, and it felt like we were in one of those spy movies from the 20's because every half hour someone would enter the cabin and scream for our ticket or our passport, so we didn't really got much sleep...
Have a nice trip

It IS safe. I have never had any problems.

It is always best to book ahead, but often not necessary.

You can book a cabin with just three, yes, it is more expensive than sharing with 6, but worth the extra cost. And sometimes you get lucky and don't have to share with anyone anyway.

I truly have ever been to berlin prague and amsterdam, i think of berlin is the superb. it is not too high priced and funky!! i hv been there thrice becoz i like it the nighttime life, the construction, the city, the subculture, the food, the folk, the history from berlin you additionally can circulate to park sanssouci, proper palaceS (various palaces in that park). whether prague is the main inexpensive.. yap amsterdam i think of is the costliest. yap prague has solid shape besides, greater or much less. i think of that's sufficient.. approximately 500-seven hundred€ in berlin for 4 days. you may have taken babies hostel that fee very low-fee, approximately in basic terms 20€ according to individual according to nighttime
