When traveling, I prefer to give cash AND small gifts as tips. Any suggestions for the Dominican Republic? I typically give out US cigarettes, but seeing that they are made in the DR, Im looking for something else thats hard to get in the DR.

I will be cruising to St. George, Bermuda and docking at the cruise ship terminal on Ordnance Island for 4 days. What is in WALKING distance from where we will be docked? Shopping? Pubs? Attractions? We're just trying to plan a little in advance. Thanks for the help!

I was thinking of flying from Miami to Antigua for my honeymoon. Has anyone ever been there or have any thoughts? I was also just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for honeymoons, either inside or outside of the U.S. I mainly want to stay around the ocean, either on a cruise or some sort of island or resort. The Caribbean islands are completely dry of tourists in the Hurricane season, while people flock to Mexico and Florida which are in the same zone.

My fiance and I would like to go to Cuba in November. We don't want to go to a super club with lots of people. We just want a quiet, beautiful place were we can lay on the beach and read a book. We are in our late 20's so having some kind of night life would be nice. Overall though, off the beaten path would be perfect. Anyone know of any good, all inlcusive places like this??

Apart from isolated area on the southeast of the island, Jamaicans can give thanks.

A few trees fell down close to my home,but we were all fine.
Dean kept on a track almost paralell to the island instead of the earlier prediction of it coming diagonally- as was with hurricane Gilbert.

I checked with my family in the rural parts, and the feeling is that everyone is OK, some serious falling of trees, a few blown off houses, but still a lot to give thanks for, based on what was earlier predicted.

No power at home as yet, I am actually at work, [I am one of the designated 'point persons'], checking connectivity and checking to make sure the rest of staff is OK.

I'm supposed to be going back to Aruba the first week in September (I can't get enough of the place). Will the hurricane pass by then? I've been told that Aruba doesn't get the hurricanes, but we have to go over Jamaica, Haiti, DR, etc. to get there!
