has any one heard or know how bad Negril was hit with this horrible storm????

From what I hear from Negril locals, Negril was somewhat spared...
We'll need to see what the damage was, but the storm passed about 50-60 miles south of negril point. Thus saving it from the worst. It seemed Ivan may have been a much more damaging event.

Jamaica is receiving a battering right now. Dont know bout Negril specifically but i can tell you that Kingston is hard it.
I'm glued to my T.V and the internet so I'll update this answer if I get anything.
I'm back...Negril did not get it so bad but the South East coast of the island get a fierce battering.The eye of the storm is passing just south of the island

Negril has only now started experiencing the brunt of the storm. The South Coast was affected the worst.

im traveling to negril on wednesday, the point of negril hotel, it has left jamaica now heading to yucantan, which may reach cat5. As far as i know kingston was hit,trees fell down,loss of crops,flooding and roof tops wrecked.
it wasnt as bad as forecasters said it would be, the eye of the hurricane scrapped the southcoast, jamaica will be up and running in no time.
i hope mexico,yucantan will be safe..good luck

Too early to tell. I don't think it has even made its way to that end of the country yet. Usually it is a few days before any realistic damage can be assessed anyway.

I think the worst is still coming. Just left Montego Bay yesterday.
