a koala spends 1 full hour in your house, it entitled for free food
and lodging in it for life; so many enterprising koalas wander around people's houses, trying to snick in; to make humans responsible for collecting 500 grams of eucalypti leaves they need to feed themselves daily and comfortable lodgings; and that they can bring all their relatives up to cousins twice removed, with them if they succeed?

i have been in australia for two months now on a business trip and i am leaving brisbane in march 2008, to go back home,

an australian friend invited me to spend christmas with his family, and i never celebrated christmas because my parents never believed in god, and i never cared to celebrate it, i used the free time from work to travel,

my questions, what are the christmas customs in australia, what should i do, and how to behave, should i get him a gift, a gift for his wife, a gift for his mother, what type of gift should i get them,

i want to be polite to him, because although i don't want to come he kept insisting,

I'm going on a driving holiday for a while in australia, and it looks like it may not be much more expensive to buy the unit than rent it. Do you imagine I could buy one and then use it in the UK?

I'm thinking of traveling to Australia next June. I wanted to know in what ways does Australian law differs from the US in these ways:
Freedom of Speech
Driving Laws
Under age of 18 Fornication (lol, but seriously)
and other basic differences to watch out for.

Also, could you tell me of cultural differences (I heard that giving thumbs up is like giving the finger)

I don't have any insurance or medi care as I am on a tourist visa in Australia. I've always had chronic eczema and it has been getting worse since I've arrived here. I am running out of my ointment brought from my country and any ointment purchased from a local pharmacy doesn't work for me, so I need to see a doctor to get a prescribed strong cream. How much would it be to see a doctor here in Melbourne without insurance? Thanks in advance.

I am a natural born US citizen and I have a professor that is a natural born US citizen. In a conversation in class the other day, she said that she had lived in Australia and had become a naturalized citizen. I had previously been told by natural born Aussies that it is really hard to become a citizen over there and you pretty much have to marry into it. So, how does it work? When I retire, I would love to move to Australia permanently.
p.s. I am already married. :-)
