Well I can't believe how rude the responses have been! I thought the take-off was brilliant and I'm an aussie.
And Waltzing Matilda isn't the national anthem - it's just a bush song for goodness sake, so what on earth are they on about!!!!

My favourite oz animal is kangaroo 'cause it is just so Australian

Once an oz on answers read some aussie answers
thought them obnoxious, rude and mean
Thought that jobees question
was a very good one
Take no notice jobees of the ones you've seen

Another one:
I've moved all over and made lovely friends
I'm now in New Zealand until my live ends
Some people are rude in both oz and n zed
But I still call Australia home

If I posted a similar question suggesting new words for the Star Spangled Banner, the citizens of America would be highly insulted and rightly so.

While it's not our national anthem, the words of Waltzing Matilda are important to us as a culture and changing the words to be about me sitting at my computer would be not the right thing to do.

I don't have a fravour (sic) Australian animal.

I don't think the majority of Australians would appreciate your poor attempt at destroying our well-loved, iconic, unofficial anthem, Waltzing Matilda.

Just a quick question - Is English your first language?

Waltzing Matilda, and you've taken it off extremely poorly......

Suggest you learn how to spell correctly, it's "Sheila", "Sat", "Favourite"... and the inclusion of the word "have" in your last sentence will help to make it comprehensible.......
