I've never been but it seems pretty unlikely. How many giant kangaroos would they have to get??

Onya mate!
Most of the respondents haven't cottoned on that you are taking the mickey out of them with your question.
I like the kangaroo paws bouquet.......
Kangaroo paws are West Australia's state floral emblem - so it would only be in WA you'd get such special treatment.
In Queensland you are greeted by a 'queen' who presents you with a bunch of bananas......In Tassie you are greeted by a banjo weilding hillbilly with a jug of home brewed apple cider.......I could go on, but best halt here!

Yes, this does happen. Sometimes there aren't any kangaroos available, so they have to make do with wallabies, wombats or occasionally even dropbears.
Once again, it's one of those strange quirks that are unique to each country.
Last time I arrived in the USA, I was greeted by two dozen obese women bearing gifts of quarter pounders, supersized strawberry thickshakes and twinkies.

Only at Brisbane airport - because that is where most of the Japanese tourist /student arrive at and they like to see kangaroos.

What's with the Roo fetish? Send me your address and the next one I hit with my car I'll send to you. They make good door stops, but if you carry it around NY, maybe they will start to call you Kangaroo Dundee. Might help to keep the muggers at bay, you could always put your stun gun, knife or "piece" in the pouch. Hop to it!

Afraid not. I was greeted by customs officials who herded everyone into a straight line single file while they brought sniffer dogs around, twice or three times. Now, I know they were only doing their job keeping me and Australian residents safe, but it didn't feel like a welcome. More like I was a suspected criminal. But the rest of the holiday was great.

No. I've never seen that happen. There are too many people using Sydney airport for it to be possible.
