My boyfriend and I are seriously thinking of emigrating to Australia for a better way of life. We are sick of the weather in UK and way our country is going downhill, especially with the NED culture. The problem is we do not know the best place to go. Australia is huge!
Can anyone advise me on this? I would like to be in the sun, near a beach, obviously. Being able to get work is essential, therefore we can't be too far out in the sticks. Roofing is my partners trade. Would want to be somewhere relaxing but still have lots of available things to do. Any ideas?

Hi, my parents are wanting to move to Australia and we are thinking about going to. We have 2 children (aged 6mths and 3 yrs). We don't know anything about Australia! I'd like to know why we should move, what the education is like and how easy it is for us Brit's to settle in. We think we'll have enough points for a visa (my fiance could prob transfer within the company he works for), but I dont know whether to move before or after finishing my degree (Biomedical Science). Are there any good websites to look at? Any info appreciated! Thanks

Going via Singapore and spending a few nights there, staying with my cousin in Melbourne but also doing Sydney, Uluru and Cairns for a few nights each too, are internal flights expensive to book, thinking of taking about £2,500 for the whole trip, will it be enough.

I am planning on studying in Australia in Spring 2007, Australia's autumn season. I think Brisbane would be the best place for me to go, based on the weather and location to both sydney and Great Barrier Reef.

Which uni should I study at?

Hey there. Could anyone advise me of a good fishing spot either in the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast? Preferably, where you can both fish and have a swim (for the kiddies).

Thanks.

I'm traveling to Australia for two weeks in a couple of weeks. What should I make sure to see? I can't rent a car, so I'm limited to things I can get to other ways. My first week will be spent in Sydney, the second is open. Thanks for answering!

I'm from the states and I was wondering if the tax rate on items is about the same, because I was just in Europe for awhile and was amazed at their high tax rates. So are Australian taxes closer to American taxes or closer to European?
