What i did when i was looking at doing this was went on all the Australia websites recommended by Australia.com. Got a load of info sent to me about travelling and living in Oz.

Also if you type in Australia Visa into Yahoo you can get a load of info on visa's.

Beware though. Very hard to get citizenship! My dad's friend is now out there but cant get citizenship even though he has family already living there and a child with an Oz passport!

Good Luck to you! x

If your interested in emigrating to Australia, I have one question for you. What do you do for a job???? At the moment there is a huge shortage of skilled workers in many different jobs in Oz. So the government is on a real drive to encourage people with these skills to move to Australia. To see if you qualify look at the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs web site to see what jobs qualify.
Be warned though Australia is no longer as cheep as it once was as the average house price in Australia is now about £150 000 to £200 000. With Perth being the fastest growing and the most expesive place to buy.
If you live in London you should pick up the weekly free magazine the TNT as this keeps an eye on things for all the expat antipodeans.

Don't limit yourself to only city living, anyone with a trade or skilled background can earn a fortune working in outback towns. Due to the current mining boom in oz, small towns are facing a shortage of skilled people in all fields. Having lived in the outback and cities, I can tell you the people are far friendlier and opportunity is far greater. No good for the professional!, but if it's the real Australia you want to see and experience, come and have a look. As far as finding your way around, wing it, talk to people (you will find most people will go out of their way to help) and research the web. Check out the site below, it's a start!

Hey Bugz, Why only one day? Oz has so much to offer that you'd want to live the rest of your life there. Go for it, you have everything to gain, and a great life to cherish ahead.
