In the spirit of Aguadulce's previous question / post here at Y!A, here are EVEN MORE USELESS TRIVIA...

- If you would carry all the shoes that China makes in a year and put them on a weighing scale, then you would be very tired at the end.
- A directional compass only points north because that's where the north pole is.
- The highest nummerical denomination there is, is a centillion. This is a number followed by 600 zeros. This is also true with American Idol auditions... per one true star who auditions, that performance is always followed by 600 zeros.
- If you turn on all the TV sets in the world all at the same time, they would use up a lot of electricity.
- Boxers wear mouth pieces to prevent them from biting off their tongues. Sky divers wear helmets to look cool.
- Four out of five dentists say "Brush your teeth after every meal". The fifth dentist always has teeth like Sponge Bob.
- Despite intial claims, Tiger woods actually is half black, half mermaid.

My family and I are travelling to Thailand on the 15th of October. We want to make the most of our trip there. However, we are only going there for 7 days. My parents believe that we can travel the country properly if we have a tourist guide with us or if we are part of a package tour. Then we can actually visit places without having our money wasted. At the same time, we also want to do shopping. If anyone could suggest some package tours or tourist guides which are affordable, it would be great.

I have been told that pedestrians have the right of way in Japan and that this law stems from the American post WW2 occupation. It was not uncommon for zelous Japanese to run over American service men and a law was enacted to protect all pedestrians. Is this true or just an urban legend?

Who likes mosquitos?
So you don't like those pesky mosquitoes.
Here's a tip that was given at a recent gardening forum.
Put some water in a white dinner plate (I suppose a small white platito will do) and add a couple drops of Lemon Fresh Joy Dish Washing Liquid. Set the dish on your porch, patio, picnic table, park bench, or other outdoor area.
Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate color, or what, BUT ... mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh Joy & water mixture,.
TRY IT --- it works just super! It may seem trivial, but it may also help to control mosquitoes around your home, (especially in areas where the dengue and malaria carrying mosquitoes are reaching epidemic proportions) .
Pass this on to anyone who likes sitting out in the evening, or when they're having a cook out.
It's safer than mosquito coils - no offensive odor and harmful fumes, no risk of fire.

i cannot make up my mind!
All of you here have gone to HK many times, like me, I always stay in Kowloon side, now, we are thinking of staying in HK Island, near IFC mall or pacific place!
Which is better for tourists, Kowloon or HKI?
In terms of accessibility, in terms of tourist attraction like malls etc....?
Whichever is OK, we would get hotel there!
If you guys have recommendations on nice hotel, cheap but accessible hotel, a 3-star one will do!
