Korea is a lovely place, yeah, China and Japan etc, divided into South and North Korea. North Korea is communist country like China and Russia. I lived in S.Korea a couple of years back and the people are so friendly! But my Korean friend really hated it there that she went to another country to work. She said because it's getting too crowded and very hard to get a job. Her brother worked in another country as well.

I was there during the Korean war from Nov 1950 until April 1952. Korea is west of Japan and South of China. I recall the Chinese came from the North into Korea.

Korea is a peninsula (between China and Japan) in Asia. I am part Korean and I have been to S. Korea several times. The last time I went was back in the summer of 2000. It is a very interesting and wonderful country.
Korea was invaded by Japan from 1910-45. Korea was then divided at the end of WWII and the Korean War took place from 1950-3.
S. Korea hosted the 1988 Summer Olympics in its capital Seoul. Korea and Japan hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup - the S. Korean team got into the semifinals and in the end ranked 4th place.

At the coast at the northern border of China. The country is split in two with South Korea being prosperous and modern and the North is in horrible straights with starvation and a really bad reactionary government that is as rabid as any in the world. An interesting study in contrasts between free trade and a tightly controlled society.
