i cannot make up my mind!
All of you here have gone to HK many times, like me, I always stay in Kowloon side, now, we are thinking of staying in HK Island, near IFC mall or pacific place!
Which is better for tourists, Kowloon or HKI?
In terms of accessibility, in terms of tourist attraction like malls etc....?
Whichever is OK, we would get hotel there!
If you guys have recommendations on nice hotel, cheap but accessible hotel, a 3-star one will do!

It really depends on your choices. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. HK side is very nice, commerical, and not as crowded in kowloon. However, I believe it is more expensive.

As for Kowloon, you get access to Mongkok, Tsim Sha Tsui, and other crowded area, however, shopping is cheaper, better food, more tranditional.

I would go for both!!!!!!!!

I prefer Kowloon especially Tsim Sha Tsui area, very convenience for tourist. Nathan Road is full of shopping places (not forgetting the biggest mall in HK, Harbourcity) and eateries, can shop till late and go back hotel for a sleep.

I would recommend HK Island -- much nicer environment -- clean air. May be even pick a hotel on the south side of HK Island.
I have stayed at the LeMerridien in Cyberport (on the south side of HK Island) -- very nice hotel. The hotel also provides shuttle to various places around HK Island so you can get to shopping and to the ferry stations (if need be)

I prefer HK side, I think Pacific Place is the best, I stayed in JW Marriott this year, the location can't be better. You take escalator to the subway station, great shops, but costly though. I also stayed at Renaissance both HK and Kowloon, both location are not as good as JW Marriott.

i am a local resident in Hong Kong and living in Kowloon. I think going to HK island is better because compared with HK island, HK's air quaility is obviously worse.
