My friends and I are planning on going to Tokyo for New Years but im having second thoughts because Ive been hearing that many touristy places will be closed during that time. Is this true?

Also... I'm looking to rent out an apt. but have no clue as to where the bad and good neighborhoods are in Tokyo. Please let me know where to stay away from and where we should stay.

okay, has anyone gone to japan to live for a year or more? what visa did you get and how?? now i know about working visa but i need a degree apparantly, im to old for a holiday/working visa, im 32!!!!!!! funny. My wife to be is a japanese national and i will be living with her, can she be my sponser? Can i change my visitor visa to working visa when im there? I am tefl qualified but again need a degree to get working visa, so help!!!!!!!!!!!!! pls :)
