i used to teach english in china and i found that most of the chinese-english electronic dictionaries were pretty bad. a lot of times you get really old words and phrases. ive been using some online dictionaries to help with my studies. my favorite lately (i change often) is http://www.nciku.com because it seems to be updated pretty often.

but a dictionary is only one part. you should find some chinese friends or just make some online friends and maybe do a language exchange. there is no substitute for actual speaking/listening/writing/reading experience

hope that helps. good luck learning chinese. its tough

Actually this is a very hard item to find. Almost all the translators here are from Chinese - English because they are designed for Chinese people who are learning English.

The sad thing is all they had to do was program a simple reverse function in the translators on the market, but like many thing the Chinese design.........they just don't think beyond the first step.
