Need to relocate family there for one year. Looking for safety first and clean standards. Can afford rent up to $750. A community of many Americans would be nice. Thanks.

I'm planning a trip to New Orleans for new years and I heard recently that the city is not safe and the crime rate is high. Should I cancel? I'm staying in the French Quarter, and I figured that as a tourist spot it would be relatively safe. What areas should I avoid? What are some things I can do to keep safe?

I'm trying to find a royal caribean cruise that has a suite that costs less than $500 and is on the west of america's coastal area. Can be anywhere from Texas to L.A., California. If that's an impossible price, then I'll make the max $700. It needs to have a pool, a cafe, a theater, a teens hangout, a solarium, a beautiful veiw, and has to look beautiful. Whoever answers this, I will forever be in your debt.

I have heard good things about it and am interested in moving there. It would be myself, my husband and our 2 daughters (2 & 5). We would want to start in an apartment in a decent area and was wondering if anyone could recommend any... 3 BR from $600-$800 a month. If not Ft. Collins, somewhere else beautiful in Colorado, but not in a major city. Thanks to answers!

Brussels, Amsterdam,Copenhagen, Paris, Hamburg, Madrid. It can be in the suburbs, doesn't have to be downtown. Also needs enough room for three people to sleep, not necessarily three bedrooms.

I'm going to Germany in June and I'm really excited ... except for the plane. How long is a flight to Stuttgart (from New York or Chicago), or just Germany in general?

How do I mentally prepare for flying over the Atlantic Ocean? I get freaked out easily, partially because I have a very good imagination; sometimes it's too good. Does anyone have any tips for flying over water, particularly the ocean?

I know that, if a Canadian citizen/resident stays in USA for more than 7 days, then when he returns to Canada by car, he qualifies for a personal duty & tax exemption of $750 CAD. My question is that, does that amount include tax charged in USA?? I mean, suppose I buy something at around $710, but after the USA state tax, the total is $760. Is that eligible for the exemption?

Also, if I had to pay tax, would that tax on the total amount ($760) or the excess amount ($760 - $750 = $10)?

Thank you.

I posted a question to see if there were any fellow Reform Jews here. I also mentioned that having attended both Reform and Orthodox synagogues, I personally prefered the former, because in the Orthodox shuls I went to, the women were always tucked away behind the mechitsa where they just sat and chatted. This was my personal opinion and experience.

In response, ST has now stated that my opinion is 'anti semitic and self hating'.

Er, I always thought 'anti semitism' meant hating Jews! What have I said that is racist?

It's because of ST that some non Jews feel we over-use the term 'anti semitic'.

What do you think, please?
