The oldest casino was the Frontier that just went BOOM. Now it would be Tropicana, Sahara, Flamingo or Riveria on The Strip. The newest just off the Strip is South Point. Palazzo will open very soon. The most recent to open was Wynn Las Vegas.

The Railroad Pass Casino, south of town, is the oldest. It was built in 1931. It's on the way to Hoover Dam, before you get to Boulder City.

Is the Flamingo still standing? It was the first true "casino" as such in Las Vegas. I haven't been there since 1982 and when I heard they demolished my fav casino/hotel the Stardust I doubt I will ever go back. prefer Reno.

My personal favorite if the MGM Grand Hotel for many resons. Great customer service with short check in and and check out lines. It is located on middle ish of the strip so it's perfect place to set up to hang out on the strip. Finally, there is a train (not really) transportation station in the hotel to make it easy to go anywhere you need on the strip (trust me I was excited about walking, but it gets old.... really quickly haha)
