I was wondering what the length and width should be for my first snowboard...I am around 110-113lbs and 5,2 (158-9)

I have read that it should be somwhere around my chin to my nose which is about 142-147 cm

What is a good brand for a beginner to start with?

How do you know if a pair of bindngs that your purchasing will fit your board, or is that not a huge concern?
Also, im looking too purchase a pair of Ride Ex's soon, as by old binding are slowly breaking. Are the ex's a good model to go with? also, what are your experiences with flows/any other step in bindings? Thanks!

I was going to buy the Burton Custom 156cm snowboard, but the waist width is only 247mm and I wear size 9-10 shoes. Will I have a problem with toe drag?

or do some of you guys live here? in switzerland?
i mean i was born in DC but i've grown up here. and i seem to notice that you guys, um, have slightly different ideas about snowboarding in general.
like you don't wear helmets
and you're obsessed with board sizes, instead of just getting the people at the rental place or the store to do it for you
and apparently it seems to take you really long to catch on to how to do tricks.

I'm 5'10" around 170 lbs. I was wondering if I could get away with riding a 156cm snowboard? I am an all-mountain rider and I'm not sure if I could ride powder in a short board.

Hi, I'm looking to get a jacket before I go off snowboarding. I've been considering the Beryllium by Mountain Hardwear vs the Sedition 2 or Pantheon by North Face.

Any thoughts people?

I wish to know if u reccomend any particular gear. I've been looking at Burton boards and bindings, but I simply cannot determine the differences and what would be best for me, as a rookie. There are Lexa, Citizen.. oh, so Many bindings! Then u have different cores in boards.. and symetrical sides of the board..?? *confused* Please advise on what to buy. Thank you. My daughter, who is very shy, wants to learn how to snowboard for her Sweet 16. I am wondering where the best place to get lessons is in the greater Northern Ca region, or Nevada. She suggested Diamond Peak. Does anyone know if they are good with beginners? Is there a good place you would recommend?

I have never been snowboarding, and I need a good winter activity so that I don't get cabin fever...

I would like a good beginner board, can anyone tell me some good brands/types/things to look for when buying a beginner snowboard? I seriously don't want to end up with a crappy wal-mart special... and i'd like one that I won't get sick of right away, too. (I'm thinking kinda like a beginner motorcycle rider buying a rebel 250, you're going to grow out of it quick)

I plan on taking lessons at the local ski resort as they have lessons for beginners...

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks...

I recently purchased a k2 va va voom snowboard, which I knew was a freestyle board, but I didn't know was a jib board. I'm an amatuer who's interested in the park and rails, but also wants to be able to make it down a trail in one piece. I'm not concerned about going very fast, but will I still be able to turn and carve on this board?

I don't know much about them. I'm looking for a freestyle board that comes with bindings. I'm male, 5'7, about 160 lbs and my shoe size is about 9.5. By what criteria should I discriminate? Should I choose based just on my height and weight?
