I wish to know if u reccomend any particular gear. I've been looking at Burton boards and bindings, but I simply cannot determine the differences and what would be best for me, as a rookie. There are Lexa, Citizen.. oh, so Many bindings! Then u have different cores in boards.. and symetrical sides of the board..?? *confused* Please advise on what to buy. Thank you. As a begineer rider i would advise you to go for an entry level All Mountain board. These type of boards are great for new riders as they can be used for all types of riding freestyle, freeriding and powder. Some boards that would suit you are
Burton Feather
K2 Skyla
Sapient Fluid
Nitro Mystique
Ride Vista
Salomon Lotus
All thse boards are entry level boards so they are all relativly cheap to buy and are easy to ride and learn the basics on, but are stll progressive enough to last you a while. As for bindings just go for a cheap entry level set. Ride Bindings are very good, other makes worth checking out are K2, Flow, Drake etc. Good Luck with the riding.

Agreed - Burton is really expensive for what you are getting and you don't even know what kind of riding you prefer yet. Have you considered a season rental for your first year while you figure out what type of gear you like / want?
If you want a really good board at a better price, try Ride or K2 and look at the Ride bindings with the metal buckles - good quality stuff that will serve you well as you learn.

I would rent some gear first. What if you bought all this stuff and you don't like to snowboard. That way you don't waste a ton of money. Just a thought. That is what I am going to do.

i'd say go for something cheaper then burton for your first board, but the people at the shop can tell you everything you need to know

burton unlimited board, ride bindings, dc phase park boots, gernade gloves, von zipper goggles, that is one good set up!!!! go for it
