I'm 5'10" around 170 lbs. I was wondering if I could get away with riding a 156cm snowboard? I am an all-mountain rider and I'm not sure if I could ride powder in a short board.

I am the same height as you are and more or less the same weight and i always go for a 156 when buying an All mountain board. Ive even gone smaller than that but i generally like a small board anyway and i dont ride powder. I suppose a 156 for powder riding would be a bit on the short side for your weight but it should still be ok, Good luck with the riding.

That board would be about right for all mountain riding. I am 5'11" 190lbs and ride a 158 in the powder so it isn't too small. If you wonder what your ideal size would be, try this:

It says 158 for you, but the shorter board will just be a little better for all around use.

Good Luck

All those solutions are good on. I in simple terms had to tell you to no longer problem approximately it too plenty, however. i'm 5' 8", my first board replaced right into a 154, my 2d board replaced right into a 143, my 0.33 board replaced right into a 162, and now i'm lower back at a hundred and fifty five. specific, there have been variations between how all of them rode, yet no longer something drastic! in simple terms asserting, once you're all under pressure and thinking you are able to desire to drop some expenses on a sparkling board it extremely is a few centimeters shorter, DON"T. except you're a gazillionaire.

You should get a snowboard thats between your chin and nose. And if you like to do tricks, short boards are better.

You want a board that goes from toe to shoulder.

An inch or two either way is fine.

Youll just have to adjust your ride to the extra inches.. Or lack there of.

Mine is snug to my armpit.

But i prefer a slightly smaller board.

Easier Manuevering

When you go to buy one the sales people will discuss the average board for your size as well as variations on the average and what they mean to you.
