My friend is convinced he will be the next boardercross gold medalist, so I'm trying to find out what the people who win use, so won't have that excuse at least.

How much does a decent/good all/completely wooden snowboard usually cost?

What kind of wood is are they usually made from?

Could you provide a list with the order of what the best wood for snowboards would be?

Are they better than snowboards that are made of fiberglass and other materials?

I have a nice pair of burton cartel bindings which i just broke this past weekend riding. They are like 250$ bindings so i was understandably pissed. I tore it right off the board, the disk shattered and at first I thought the binding was fine since the disk was in pieces but then i realized that the plastic tore where the hole is that the disk goes into, rendering at least that one piece garbage. So my question is, does burton guarantee against this type of damage? if so for how long? do i need a receipt to get any repairs under warranty? Can I order just that one part of the binding and fix it myself? From where? if not, can I buy just one binding somehow or not? What would you do.

thanks

We started snowboarding recently, and I picked it up really fast, but she is having some problems with turning. She's scared of the point where you are pointing directly downhill so she just doesnt do it, instead she goes forwrd, then backward, then forward in a kind of big zig zag down the slope. What tips can I give her to do the turn?

I'm looking into buying myself a snowboard. I'm definitely a beginner, a girl, I usually go to a park with artficial snow, and once I'm better, I'd like to spend most of my time in the pipe. I'm thinking about this one: http://www.burton.com/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=29, but I know next to nothing about snowboarding. I'm basically looking for suggestions. Also, I have no idea whether or not I should stick with a rental until I'm better, or just go ahead and get my own.

Alright heres the deal, ive been snowboarding a few times (3 days of full riding) and im wanting to get a little more serious with my riding.

Im looking to purchase my first real board setup for myself. Ive read everything i can find about getting a complete online and it seems pretty confusing.

Im about 5'9" 155-160lbs size 11 shoe.

My riding is going to almost exclusively be limited to freestyle jib stuff, you know, sliding boxes and rails, butters, bonks and presses, all that good stuff. I dont plan on doing big airs or bombing down black diamonds anytime soon.

From what ive gathered from all the articles ive read online, it seems like i need a freestyle board with alot of flex, is this true? And, just taking a guess, but should I be riding a board around 153-154? The rentals ive used were all 154's.

I recently purchased a Burton Indie 158 and Burton CO2 bindings and am looking for a good pair of snowboarding boots. What is the best recommendation based on my setup? I am 5'10, 160 with size 11 feet.

So, on MLK day I went snowboarding for the first time. It was the first time I had ever been up on a mountain to snowboard. I have never been skiing. I learned how to strap in because I was with a large group from school. Next thing I know, I was goin' down the mountain. I was a fast learner. It was a lot of fun and I really want to learn but I have to wait for my liscense to be able to regularly go. I'm 15, I really like snowboarding and I want to compete in the future. How can I improve/ a program I can join to get better and learn. I live in the pacific northwest.

They make boards with a full carbon-fiber deck, which is supposed to be ultra light-weight, and extremely strong.

Just curious if anyone else out there rides one or is curious about them? I'm probably gonna pick one up during the offseason, but i was just wondering if anyone has some input?

Has any person out there tested these burton c60 bindings? How do you actually like them (are they comfortable enough and do they ride really good) and who do you recommend them to? Are they good for many people that freeride?

I've been riding for 5 years and for some reason, this is the first time I've heard of detuning a board. Friends just got me a new Burton Cruzer. Does it need to be detuned, and if so, where's the best place to get it done? Sport Chalet ok?

Going on a trip in march and I've never been snowboarding in Utah. Consider myself "upper intermediate" skill level. Not quite ready for helicopter drops.

I just bought salomon ivy 151 and am starting to think that it is too long for me. I am about 110 lb and 5'5. my old burton feelgood was 152 so i thought 151 was the right size but i took it out once and it was way faster that the feelgood. should i have gotten the 148 instead?

thanks.

i am looking for a very wide freestyle snowboard....like the widest one made. I have a 159 and the waist is 26.8
From what i have seen all over the internet the widest made is 27.0. I have major toe/heel drag because i have a size 13 boot that hangs over about an inch or an inch and a half on the toe. I might get some risers to help that.

If anyone could tell me what a really wide board is that would be great thanks.

Are these c60 bindings too responsive for me on this new vapor since I'm an intermediate?????
I ride groomers freeride only, no park. They are a 10 on the response meter and some said they are stiff and hurt their feet while others told me they liked them and fit the board good. What do you think, any expeience with the c60's??? How is this set up for me maybe? Is this a good interemidate board?

I have gotten into a little jumping lately, and yesterday I caught 4 feet of air, so I think it is time to do some grabs or spins and such. Do you have any good sites that show how do do tricks? Also, what is an easy trick to start off with?

Thanks guys
