I just bought salomon ivy 151 and am starting to think that it is too long for me. I am about 110 lb and 5'5. my old burton feelgood was 152 so i thought 151 was the right size but i took it out once and it was way faster that the feelgood. should i have gotten the 148 instead?

thanks.

Well thats weird because that Burton should be just a little faster, little more pop to it. You sure your Burton just wasnt in need of a tune? Ithink the Ivy has a softer torsional flex.

you sound about the same size as me. (except i dunno your age, so its gonna be a little harder) I'm 14, 110 lbs, and I'm 5' 7" and I'm a guy, if yours is Kay i assume your a chick. i ride a 155 and I'm fine with it, but its a Burton blunt, which is flexible and Ive still got some growing to do so i bought it big. i think a 148 would probably be better for you, cause that's about the size i would be riding if i hadn't bought it big on purpose. now on how to get you have a few choices. 1- stick it out with this board, you ll probably grow into it eventually. 2- sell it RIGHT NOW while its still worth almost new value and use the cash to get the right one. 3- trash this board and but a new one, but i don't suggest this, its a waste of a board and unless you re made out of money, you wont be able to afford a new one anytime soon.

Maybe it's not the length of the snowboard but the stiffness. After riding them a while boards lose their camber, this will make the board less stiff and responsive and it will seem slower to ride. Also the base on a brand new board is going to be in better condition than a board that has been used for a while and is therefore going to go faster because of less friction. To really determine the right snowboard for yourself, you have to take into consideration not only your height and weight but also your skill level...maybe it is too advanced a board for you?
