I've been interested in marien biology since I was in preschool. My first incounter was with swimming with the bottle nose dolphins in the Key West. And when I was in Kindergarten, adults would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up,I would say,"A dolphin trainer,"My father later told me that it was called a marien biologist, even though I couldn't exactly pronounce the huge word, I had my whole heart into it ever since I touched that flubbery skin of a dolphin.I was certified in open water scuba diving when I was 13,but my first encounter with swimming under water with a regulartor was when I was 7.It was called snuba. On my last scuba certification dive,my instructor and I swam through some caves. At one point,I thought my regulator was going to fall out of my mouth.I was sssssoooo astonished on how the light flickered down through a hole on the ceiling onto the soft bottom of the cave.I knew right then that this is what I was suppose to do-live underwater. What college is best 4 me?

I recently decided to get my nipples peirced to enhance my sexual experiences, but as a keen swimmer I am worried of the implications this could have on my hobby. Several people have complained that my infected nipples are contaminating the pool water, and an 8 year old boy recently "claimed" to have swallowed one of my nipple scabs. I am hoping that my nipples will stop seeping fluid soon, but should I take out the rings in the meantime?

Like knee-long or 3/4.

I've seen some folks at the swimming pool wearing them. I think it looks really cool. What's it like to swim in them?

Chlorine in swimming pools irritates my skin but I really like to swim. If anyone knows of any pool that uses an alternative method of purification it would be great if you could let me know. Thanks!

Hi all,
I'm really considering getting my open water license from my college. It'd be $160 for the lessons and $160 for a two-day trip to Florida, where we'd do four dives and snorkel on Rainbow River with manatees. This sounds like a great deal financially.

1) What does the "zero gravity" thing feel like? It just feels like you're weightless when you dive?

2) What are the chances of my hose rupturing underwater? Or my air tank suddenly letting out all the air? Or my belt falling off and me ascending quickly? The instructor mentioned all of the above last night; how prevalent does this happen?

3) Is the pressure from going down into the water obvious when you dive? Ex: Do you get lightheaded, dizzy, or do your ears pop?

I recently went snorkeling in the Bahamas and loved it. I snorkeled anywhere from one foot to 20 feet in the barrier reef and saw cushion sea stars, jellyfish, sting rays, a nurse shark, colorful corals, and delicate angelfish. Getting scuba certified is EXPENSIVE ($1,000) and so are the air tanks. For those who have done both, is scuba diving significantly better? How so?
