i learnt swimming 2 years back but have been practising about 4 months. i am trying to get myself to be able to swim continuosly atleast 400m. i can swim 50 m and i have to stop to catch my breath. i can do this about 10 times. My problem is there have been times when i did not get tired at all and i could swim continously and did not have to stop to catch my breathe. Why does this happen.
I am in my 20ies, does age matter in terms of stamina for swimming. I am thin, not much fat on my body, does that matter.
Any special diet that i should be following...
I breathe only on my right side and turn to breathe and i blow underwater.
I used to swim everyday but someone told me to swim alternate days so that my muscles get time to grow, is it true
I dont know what i am doing wrong and i am really frustrated.
Every answer is appreciated. Thank you

I am an amateur swimmer and eventually tend to push it while doing my swim programs.. I've been recently diagnosed with lateral meniscus tear.

Could swimming be the cause of such? Should i go back to the pool after sugery?

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wael

I wonder if anyone has read or seen a training plan that I could follow? Please recommend.

I am a strong swimmer but returning to swimming and exercise after a 12 - 18 month gap due to various reasons.

I am particularly interested in a book or magazine with a plan I could follow.

This is my 6th year swimming(I'm 13) and I really need a good workout that strengthens and flattens my abs. I am a Butterflyer and Breastroker so. Also, I have very strong arm muscles (especially for my age and that I'm a girl. I'm almost as strong as my boyfriend who also swims and plays football)

BTW, ones that work pretty fast also appreciated, Thanks!

I'm a runner but a knee injury has left me no choice but to resort to swimming. I enjoy swimming as it's low impact and burnzzz calories. However, I live in LA. In the early AM it's between 50-55 degrees. I have access to a pool in my neighborhood which i would like to take advantage of as opposed to fighting for a lane at my gym's swimming pool. Can anyone recommend a line or type of swimwear that i can wear and to use my neighborhood pool? I'd like to stay semi warm if possible. Is that unheard of or what? Thanks in advance.
