We are planning a diving trip for the end of Feb and would be great to get some suggestions as to where in Europe is good for scuba diving. I have a PADI cert but am not experienced, so hope to go somewhere that caters for less experienced divers. Any suggestions for locations or where to book this, or links to helpful sites greatly appreciated

Can anyone suggest a mini event or events to promote swimathon? Anyone can suggest a side event on the actual day?

Please try to suggest activities and they should be related to the swimathon.

Hello! I had strog stroke in my knee in the begining of October and it caused an deep-vein thrombosis in it. 2 months later it evolved to a very small Pulmonay Embolism. Now, I'm taking a droug called sodic varfarin to make my blook thinner, but i wont take it forever.. (probably only 6 months). In MArch, I will go to Hawaii, and I would like A LOT to make some scuba diving and some free dive. Do you think it could be a risk to my Life ? and... if it is.. do you think that if I make only free dive (without any breathing equipament) I would be in risk also ? thanks a lot !

My little sister is starting highschool pretty soon and she needs to take P.E. (physical education) but all the schools around us say that swimming is a requirement and so she dont know how to swim so she doesnt want to be the only one in the class who doesnt know how. Also she feels awkward wearing a bathing suit when most girls wear two-piece bathing suits. I told her she can learn and take a class starting in April but she says that she isnt sure if theyll accept her cuz shes much older. What should she do?

Normally I'll take 1 breath for every 2 strokes (every time my right arm comes up) but my coach wants me to drop that to at least 3 if not 4 during practice and somewhere around 6 during competition (I'm a sprinter). I have a lot of body area with massive oxygen needs and my 100 free time will go from a 1:11 with 2 breaths to around a 1:17 with 3 breaths.

Some of my workouts include the 3 breath one but what else can I do? Is there a legal vitamin/supplement that I can take to increase my body's oxygen retention or what other drills can I do during practice?

I feel like I'm always sore before, during, and after swimming. But I am very good at swimming, so I stick to it.

I stretch when I wake up, before pratice, a little during, and after pratice. I stretch for a while and stetch all my muscels.

I have overstretched before, so I don't so it to much...

I am a distance swimmer. Most of my teammates never complain about being sore but me.

I don't know what to do... how to prevent soreness LONG term AND SHORT term seems impossible!!

my daughter just swam 2 miles ( 128 lenghts ) in a pool for a charity . i was flabberghasted as i sponsered her £1 per length. she even finished in 1 hour and won a prize for fastest swimmer . i suppose after the shock of the expense i am very proud of her !!
