my daughter just swam 2 miles ( 128 lenghts ) in a pool for a charity . i was flabberghasted as i sponsered her £1 per length. she even finished in 1 hour and won a prize for fastest swimmer . i suppose after the shock of the expense i am very proud of her !!

I swim on a team and we usualy do about a 5500 (220 lenghts), and that's about a 3 miles and a half. 5 or 6 times a week. many of which consist of hard repeat sets. We also work out a little before.

Also, in swimming terms, two miles would be 132 laps (a 1650, aka. the mile, is 66 laps.)

So for me, swimming is a lot longer stuff than that. But for a regurlar joe, that's great!

Yep! I'm on a competitive swim team and one time for a swimathon swam 300 lenghths of a 25 meter pool. The trick for me is to get an upbeat song in my head and swim to the beat, and then I feel like I can go forever!

Well one mile at a regular 50 meter pool is 32 laps and two miles would be 64 so that would be what you were saying but I dont see that being any different then a high school swim practice they probably dont swim two miles but they might swim a mile or mile in a half. So its possible.

Its all about breathing !!! Looks like your daughter has a good breathing technique that makes her go all this distance even Theo her time is bad!!! Considering that she is young, You can sign her in a swimming team or something. They will take good care of her there ...

All best wishes to her

Well done to her. She's achieved something i haven't. I can't swim, and i'm an adult, but would really love to. I don't like the water. She and you ought to be very proud.
