This is actually for a friend but we both play water polo and the suits are very tight. So tight that they rub and leave rashes sometimes. I have been told to use surfboard wax to get rid of it but and not sure how to. So ya this is an issue and it sucks. Can anybody help me and or give me ideas to make the area of the suit slippery so it rubs smoothly or anything? All ideas appreciated...Thanks

I'm a freshman in highschool, and I'm currently on the soccer team, but I was thinking about trying out for the swim team in the Spring. Do you know anything about it? Is it a really competitive sport? I like to swim, but I don't think I'm very good, and I don't know where I could practice.

Writing a novel. My characters jump into their backyard pool just before their house blows up. They dive under water. I will dramatize that nothing big will land in the pool but I need to know if the house exposed will the sound hurt their ear drums.

The camera must be as lightweight as possible (ideally tube shaped) WITHOUT housing, and that can be used for diving, or even mounted on a neoprene helmet (or strapped to an arm) for other activities in and out of the water to give a 1st person perpective. Please help!!!

Although it has improved i feel I'm lacking power with my kick, I tend to pull too much with my arms and sometimes i find myself almost dragging my legs. I've concentrated on this and now i kick more, but I've noticed it shows not much improvement in time.

I hang my wetsuit booties (5mm thick with the hard bottom) after I rinse them, and they will still be wet inside a week later. How do I get them dry quicker so they don't start to smell?

I join YMCA because of thier popular BodyPump program.
I wonder if $55 a month is appropriate for this class.
I take 2 classes per week.

I've been working on these for so long and every time I get close to completing one, I pull out and smack because I see the board and it seems closer than it really is. My coach actually told me to stop after I succeeded because my head was REALLY close the board and when I tried to fix it I just got closer. While I was kind of happy that I didn't have to work on them anymore, now it might be a problem since the week where reverse is the required dive is coming up. Any tips?

At a recent swim meet I went 2:03.90 in my 200 Free, but a 59.50 in my 100 and a 27.50 in my 50. My best times in the 100 and 50 are 58.00 and 25.90, respectively, but those times were from about a month ago and I definitely should've improved on those by now. Comparatively, my 200 Free time a month ago was a 2:08.30. I definitely have the ability to break 25.00 in my 50 and 57.00 in my 100, but it just isn't happening. I think it's just mental, and if anyone has a suggestion to improve my mental preparation for sprints, I'd really appreciate it.

I belong to a competitive swim team that, for the past few years, practices 8 times a week. That's Monday-Saturday for 2.5 hours, then twice on Sundays. Sundays are in the morning for 2 hours and then again in the late afternoon for 2.5 hours. I often wonder how much practice we need, or is it good to get that much. I do skip once a week or so if my parents let me, but most of my team mates do the 8 times. By the way, our team members range from about 8 years old to high school ages. I'm 14 myself. I was wondering what is the average most competitive swim teams practice, and is 8 times a week the norm or too much. Thanks.
