If you mean glasses- YES. Despite popular belief on here it seems, glasses are fine in the water. They don't DO anything for underwater vision, but that's ok. You also need a "dummy" string (I really don't know what the proper name for it is, that's just what my dad always called them) to make sure they don't fall off and sink.
Just rinse and dry your glasses afterwards. I've used my glasses in the pool every day for 6 years now, and they are perfectly fine. They are metal frame, so I don't know what everyone is worried about.
If you mean contact lenses- if you are careful, it should be fine.... That said it's more risky than glasses. You cannot jump in the water, you cannot go underwater with your eyes open.
I train the lifeguards, and many of them have lost 2 or three pairs of contact lenses to the pool. However, they tend to wear goggles when practicing, so that keeps their lenses safer.
Again- it's perfectly safe to do so, but you'll lose a few pairs along the way, so always keep a spare in your bag for the drive home!
It's not wrong or against any rules I've seen, so it's your choice- ultimately.
Hope this helps.

Yes, but do not let get the water in your eyes as it will only force the lenses out. However, keep in mind that there are harmful bacteria in the pool and ocean which can be very harmful. Try to replace the lenses immediately after exposing them.

I had contacts until 4 years ago (had lasik) and swam from 10 till 18 . . . with contacts the entire time. However, I did always wear goggles. Did have some close calls when I would dive in and the goggles had a mind of their own. It caused me a couple of glitches during races because of that. I was blind as a bat, so perscription goggles weren't great for me (as soon as I would take them off, I couldn't see where I was going)!

Yea, but if you are opening your eyes underwater the chlorine will dry the lenses out and they will irratate you. Your best bet is buying a pair of goggles.

yes !!! One of my friends is wearing them. But only with goggles
as you have to be 100 % positive that they wont let the water in because if water get to your lenses you will need new ones !!!
PS: Always wear your goggles as your face is dry ( before getting into water )

Only if you wear goggles...otherwise they swim right our of your eyes...I'm assuming you meant contacts...(no one swims with glasses on, they swim off too and the chlorine in the pool will eat the frames and lenses...)

I used to do it all the time. You just have to squint a bit to keep the lenses from being washed away.

Better not.
Do you mean contact lens, soft lens or glasses?
If you mean glasses that's definitely no.
I mean beside the water, are you not afraid?
You glasses can be fall, and can you use it to see inside the water?
So you better not do that
The contact lens & softlens also, it's very sensitive,
you must take it off before you go to bed or take a shower,
it musn't affect with dust, and so many other do and dont's.
I wear softlens and I always take it off whenever I'm going outside and then I put it on again after I go inside (I only use it when I'm doing my indoor activity)
Cause it's very dangerous if its affect by something, not only your lens, but it also can damage your eyes.
You must be very careful with that.
