DO NOT JOIN BALLYS. I was an AGM/Front Manager there.
They are a horrid business made on bad ethics.

You sign a great deal at 29 dollars a month and then they dont tell you its a 3 year deal and after the first year, your second and 3rd year are charged at a higher premium with interest followed by a clause which means that you will not be able to get out of your contract unless you
A.) die
B) move over 25 miles away from the nearest Bally's

Doesnt matter if you lost your job and have no money. They will just charge you and make you in debt.

And even if you do have a good excuse they will toss you around for 3-4 months collecting dues while (attempting to cancel your account) They are really just takeing money and doing nothing.

Trust me I worked for them do not join any 24 hour/ Bally/ Golds type gym. If you want to swim go to a small club and pay 40 ish a month. (no year contract) and do your thing.

Platlande is right . Ballys are like used car salesmen, they are like ambulance chasers. they are like the payday lenders of the fitness world. If you are a fitness nut you already know that you don,t need Ballys. Take it from somebody who knows, I made the mistake and I payed for it. I tried to tell this to my wife,s young Dizzy cousin, but she would not listen and she bought a membership for 3 years 4 months ago and and went twice. She just lost her job at the bank and realized we where right. If you can't find another place to go. I would suggest only paying for a day pass/or week pass because if you lose interest you won't have to pay for another 2 1/2 years. Be careful on what you buy/sign. If they don't want your business for a day/ week then they are not worthy of your money. Try the YMCA or another MOM&POP fitness center. They will try to talk you into a contract so be prepared . There are alot of people inthis world who are fit with out Ballys. TOO MUCH.

I would have to agree with everyone here, it is not worth it. I was a member of BTF for 15 years and was not worth the money that I spent. I became sick and tired of using outdated equipment that was never wiped down or properly maintenanced. They have a staff of salespeople who are only interested in what is in your wallet, not in your health. If any other gym offered me a free 30-day membership, I took advantage of it so that I can workout in a gym that cares about its members. I will guarantee you that if you call BTF a month from now, another sales rep will answer the phone because the turnover in that company is so high.

Mine's $8 per month which is good, but I wish I didn't sign up since it's apparently for life. Make sure you get month to month if you really don't think you'll need it say 10 years from now.
