Yeah, that could be very dangerous. If you are set on doing it, best advice I can give is to cool your body down as much as you can before so the shock is lessened. Either way get warmed up straight away.

Up here in the north we have whats called the polar bear dip, you get in a sauna, get all warmed up, run out on the ice into a hole cut in it and jump in stay for as long as you can and then get out and run back to the sauna. Never seen anyone hurt from it yet, mind you most of us are pretty healthy. Years ago I actually jump into the North Atlantic in the middle of May ( the temp was below freezing) and swam around for a few minutes. Still here and never even got a cold out of it. As long as you dont have a heart or any internal issues or weakness it shouldn't be a prob. But hey thats just from my experiance. Make sure there is someone there with an easy way to get you out if something does go wrong.

dude, if ur head goes underwater it is natural instinct to breathe in and if u are completely underwater u will breathe in water and drown. And if u survive that u could get hypothermia within minutes. If u were getting like a 1000 than i would say do i t but not for 20.

depends on how used to it you are lowering you body temaprature before getting in is a good idea leave your tee shirt on as that does keep heat in apparently i have never felt that but always been told so, enter the water slowly and when you get out put some more cholthes on if you do all that you should be fine

Get dry right away, and get to somewhere warm very quickly and you should be fine. Make sure that you don't stay in for long at all, because there would be serious risks of hypothermia.

At worse, your body will probably go into shock (assuming you dont have any physical ailments). Make sure someone else is there to pull you out, because you might not be able to get out yourself. For $20 bucks?....yeah, I'd do it.

Let me know how it turns out.

You could get hypothermia. Is it worth the $20?

As long as you don't stand around outside waiting to drip-dry, you will be absolutely fine. I did the same for $10 in 1985.

You could get really sick...you may think you'll get right out but your body may go into shock and slow you down...just don't do it. Its not worth $20.

It isn't worth $20 to do something like that. $500 maybe.
