I am a competitive swimmer but can't seem to hold my breath that long. Does anyone know any breathing techinques that will improve how long I can hold my breath. Serious answers only please.

i swim a lot. I mean, swimming, diving, every single day, for more than 4 hours. I swim in a pool, or lake, with my eyes open underwater. Will this affect my vision? I already need glasses, have for more than a year. Are the cleaners and such in pools bad for my eyes or ears? That and i'm looking for more stuff to do off the high dive.
