Chlorine. Usually it turns hair green but blue isn't uncommon. There is shampoo you can buy for it at the drug store that will get rid of it and keep it from coming back.

Chlorine. Really only worry about this, though, if you are a blonde. No matter what hair color you are then, get a special shampoo. You can find shampoo to get the chlorine out at sports stores or in the shop at the swim pool. Wash your hair, with this shampoo, directly after swimming and you should have no problem.

There are organizations that make particular shampoos and conditioners to guard your hair from the chlorine contained in the pool. I swam competitively for ten years, and that i had to apply it to save my blonde hair from turning eco-friendly and starting to be brittle. And a swim cap received't help both, because it would not save your hair dry, it in person-friendly words retains it out of your face. ETA: I used a product observed as Ultraswim, yet there are quite a few others you could attempt also.

Hair dye could react with the chemicals in the pool. If your hair is not dyed I don't have a clue

Its green from the chlorine. :) Blondes have alot of trouble with that. Some silicone protectant before going in and rinsing good when you come would will prevent it.
