Call a local pool company and they will help you out...Also be sure to call your city and let them know you are filling up your pool or your utility bill will be through the roof.

YOu can fill it yourself. Most cities have it set in your account, but just call the Water Company and explain that you are filling a pool. This will not give you free water, but it should get you a credit on the SEWER fees (which is usually a good portion of your water bill).

Once the water is high enough, you turn on the filter. once the Filter is on, you can take a reading of the water and determine the chemicals to add. The three main readings are Chlorine, PH and Alkalinity. You can test these with simple test strips which can even be purchased at walmart. The chart on the side of the container will tel you a lot about the water. Add Chlorine first, along with POOL Shock. This will kill everything in the pool.

Run the vacuume to get rid of the debris and then test again. Set the PH adn Alkalinity by adding the right cemicals (also available at Walmart or any goodpool store.)

Use a backup system, too. I add Copper Algeacide to backup what the Chlorine doesnt' get.

Check the water daily and adjust as needed.

I guess it depends on size. Obviously by you asking, you don't have a hose bib (outside water tap) &/or a hose to fill a smaller pool.

A larger pool may be filled by a volunteer fire department. When we re-lined our pool, we re-filled it with water from the river (about 100 yards away). They would/could also have tankers. Either way- they should be able to point you in the right direction.

A grownup, perhaps. Otherwise, someone who can hook up a water hose, lay the end into the pool, and turn on the water.

Sometimes your local fire department will do it for a small donation. I know we occasionally take our tanker truck out to someone's pool to fill it for them.
