I was shooting my German K98 Mauser today at a 15"x15" plywood board at 50 yards and out of 20 shots four hit the very right side of the target on the board at the top. Is there anyway to adjust the iron sights on my gun left and right or up and down? I didn't see any adjustment screws on the sights. I would like to hunt deer with it if I could get it sighted in.

I want to make a jewelry rack out of a pair of antlers. How could I get the antlers clean, smooth, and pretty enough to display? (I might paint them if the resulted color after smoothing turns out looking nasty)

Isn't there a line from a Clint Eastwood movie where he said that a bullet from a 44 Magnum can take your head clear off your shoulders? Can a 44 really do that much damage?

Many thanks,
C.L.

I Wondering because the shot shell ammo was next to some shotshell ammo that was for pistols.

And does anyone think shotshell ammo would be good for squirrel hunting.

Me and a friend have debated this several times, we both smoke but I do in the deerstand, he doesn't. I have shot deer while actually smoking, or immediatly after. Biggest buck I shot was while I was smoking sitting on the ground, and he was 25 yards away when I shot him. Have had them come in behind me from the downwind side within minutes of putting one out.
I think it matters more about wind direction than anything. Anyone else?

There was once a very famous Winchester rifle. It was a mass produced gun, but there were 1000 of them that were different. They were perfect, and If I remember correctly, they were marked with a star. If someone could please tell me what this gun was called, when it was made, and where I could see a picture of it, I would be obliged.

It seems that wolf ammo is either hit or miss with people feeding them through AR's. whats your experiance with them through your AR15? does any wear show? what parts would the steel case wear down? any other info is greatly appreciated.

I'm not really an expert on this and on a previous question, another poster contradicted my answer about this portion of the question and was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences. I've gotten 7 deer in about 20 years of hunting in Washington state, 3 with bow, the largest being a 6 pointer. I noticed that the bow hunt deer (mule deer) tasted much different than rifle shot deer, more bitter. All were taken within a 100 mile distance in the Mount Spokane area so I don't think it had to do with what they were feeding on and they were within 50lbs of each other so I don't think age/size was a factor either.

I was told by some old hunters that the more the deer runs, the adrenalin gets in the blood and affects the taste of the meat. I was also told that it's because it took longer to field dress the deer since it took awhile to get to them. Or is it just because of the different years they were taken? Any thoughts?

Should I get heavier or lighter grains for different hunts, or just use these for everything? Are they overkill for close range deer? How would they perform on a big moose at say, 300 yards max? Would 165 drop much at that distance? How about 180?

I've been told that a 12ga is preferred for trap, but I thought getting a 20 gauge would allow me to also shoot skeet with it. If a 20ga is ok for trap, should I opt for a 32" barrel, or will 30' be alright? Also, any specific shotgun recommendations for skeet or trap would be appreciated. I don't have enough spare cash to buy two guns for clay sports, unfortunately.

I have a gun with very little marking on it, it says in very small letters on the bottom of barral "FLOBER" and a stamp of a lion and a box on top of barral, gun looks to be a 22 cal, Hex barral, looks like a 1850's dueling pistal or target gun, fancy engraving in wood with silver but on bottom of handle, looks to take rim fire ammo, barral meassures 8-3/4", pistal is 15" from tip to but. If you have any info on what kind of gun or value I would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have a 10 month old bull boxer named, Tank. My husband and I have been working on him for quite some time teaching him obedience, and discipline. He has an amazing prey drive, and what is great about him, is he only acts on those feelings when he should.
My husband thinks he is ready to start going on hunting trips, but I'm having second thoughts, due to his age. He is already 67lbs and built perfectly, but I don't know. I know he will be love it, but I would hate for him to get hurt and sting his confidence.
We have 3 other adult hunting dogs we got at the same time. I have not had much experience with introducing a new dog with older knowledgeable dogs. Is it too young? Will he just follow the lead of the other guys? Should I just keep him on a lead to watch? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
