Which Rilfe Should I get (Marlin or Mossberg)?

Question

I have really been looking latley for a $150 bolt action 22 cal. rilfe. I really took interest of the Marlin 925R and the Mossberg 802 Plinkster. any advice if one is better?

I have a Marlin 925R, and I get groups of 1/4" or less at 50 yards with out a scope! too me that's accurate enough. As for the price, I paid $130, can't beat that!

I have the marlin, I like it a lot. From the research i did befor i got it ( about 2 years ago ) , people on the net said it was the most accurate cheap .22 . I have never seen or held the mossberg so I can't tell you which is better. But the marlin is %100 up to expectations.

I would go with the Marlin. Mossberg while they do make good rifles have a cheap gun reputation, while Marlin has always been a "good gun" cheap. We have some of both in our Hunter Safety classes and the Marlins last longer with fewer repairs. And we are talking guns that are being shot by students approx. 15000 rounds a year. Savage has some very good guns and they have held up as well as the Marlins in our classes. Actually better than the Marlins and Savage has very good safeties. None of our Savage rifles has ever had a safety go bad but the Marlins and Mossberg have all had safeties replaced.

I'd rather have a shotgun from Mossberg, but I'd much prefer a Marlin rifle.

i have a marlin bolt action 22 mag - very accurate - if your're getting a 22 long/short they are nice but you will be happier with the mag
