You may run into a little trouble finding new model 70's, but suit yourself.
My feelings are that bolt-actions in calibers from 9.3mm up should be in a Mauser-type action, but push feeds are fine for small-bore and miniature rifles. As it happens, the most popular rifle in my battery is the Rem 700.
But then, bolt-actions aren't the only rifles there are. My favorite thick-cover rifle is a Win 71, and my favorite 22 rimfire is a Win 63.

The Remington 700 is hard to beat. Winchesters likewise are good, but Winchester recently closed its door so they may be harder to find.

Other than having different numbers of letters in the name they are both excellent manufacturers of thundersticks.

It is a matter of person preference. Choose what you feel comfortable with. Both are good.
