Who is ready for Coon Season?

I have trained my pup this off season and hes ready to go. Still have several weeks to go, season doesnt start till November 5th in Illinois. Im going to bed with my camo on and my coon spotlights on. Who else is ready to go, and when does your season start?

Ive never eaten raccoon, and i dont really want to. Im sure it tastes good when well prepared and if the cook knows how to do it, but if i did it i know it would taste like trash. I hunt them for the fur and for a challenge.

I have threatened for years about serving raccoon to the boys at deer camp but they never take me serious. I've cooked it a number of times and will be down to the cabin next week. Hope to get a chance at a younger one with a flashlight since I don't have a coon dog.

The young lads us older guys hunt with don't really know how good a well prepared coon can taste. probably wont get most of them to eat any but my brother-in-law and I will eat just fine.
