Hi, how can i take a catfish off the hook without it stinging me?
I know somewhere on a catfish, you can get a nasty sting. help.

i might go to a fishing tournament this weekend at a small lake that has mostly panfish small bas and catfish. i figured it would be easiest to win by catching a bunch of catfish. What would work the best and where should i cast it? Does lucky 7 bloodbait work good? Thanks

I live in southern California, and have been out on alot of half day to 2 day trips. I'm planning on going out on a 3/4 day trip out to Catalina Island for calico bass, and yellowtail, as the bite is starting to heat up with the weather. I follow the fish reports, and it's been hit or miss lately(it's a little early in the season). The weather is pretty constant now, so thats not an issue. I was wondering if I could improve my odds of having a good trip by going out on a certain day of the moon cycle.

I reload. What do I need to be safe to big bear hunt, and white tail and have still meat to eat. It needs to be economical and be able shot it, not have it kick the snot out of me. I now shot a 300 WSM and love it, but don't think it is enough for the great bear(grisely). If you give me a Cal. please give Max. and Min. bullet wt.s along with FPS.

I am going fishing for the first time in a pond out in Houston, Texas... Should I use live worms as bait OR are rubber lures just as good?

I don't know what sort of fish they have at the pond. I do know it is a park with a pond (out in Katy--west houston)... But, in general-- in your opinion-- are rubber lures as effective?

I used to ride horses and show in western pleasure. I have a pair of chaps that I only used once and are in good condition. I don't ride anymore, so I feel they're going to waste, and want to sell them. I checked similar searches on Ebay and Amazon, but they don't seem to sell well there. Hi i'm new at fishing. The lake where we went today and yesterday is noted as having "abundant panfish". So we went out today with small hooks and tried bread. corn, and worms as bait. We didn't even get a bite! I am very discouraged as I have read people saying it is extremley easy to catch panfish. Any tips?
