Automatic Colt Pistol.

I agree to the prior poster about the glock safety issue. However, the lower the number normally means the larger the frame... although I believe Glock has swayed from this. the Glock 21 is a full sized .45ACP pistol while the 22 is chambered for .40S&W(Smith & Wesson). What I mean by full sized is, there are different categories used to size pistols, the sizing is based on the frame and pistol not the caliber. Ultra-Compact, Compact Custom, Compact, Medium, Full Frame, Large, and X-Large.( The Large and Full Frame may be the same size) Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

The Glock17 is a 9mm. An okay round for my taste. .45ACP is a great round, it has excellent stopping/dropping power, with a significant range, I think up to 50M effectively. I don't know about the 10mm cartridge, I've never used it. I own 2 of the considered "over-the-top" or "overkill" cartridges and I love them. I have a .45ACP(great), .44Mag(overkill), and yes..[angelic singing] the .50AE{Action Express(Hell of an Overkill)}. I love my "overkills" the only problem I have is that the rounds are soooooooo exspensive to buy and they can be difficult to control.

Everyone here is going to tell you what is great and what you should try. I wont do that. What you want to use to shoot is your decision and of your personal preferance. It is what you feel good with and what is comfortable.

Best of luck.

ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol.
As for the Glocks, I prefer the 22 because the .40 is, in my opinion, better than the .45. Because of its higher velocity the .40 has as much knockdown power as a .45, and with the .40 you get better penetration because it is a slightly narrower bullet. If you don't want the penetration you can use light weight hollow points that will expand better than any .45.
If you want the most powerful Glock get a model 20. It shoots 10mm Auto round, and with 190 grain Sierra FPJ that I custom load for mine I safely get twice the power of a standard .45 using 230 grain bullets.
Contrary to what some people mistakenly say Glocks have 3 safeties, a trigger safety, a firing pin safety, and a drop safety. Check out Glock's website and see, and while you are there think about how many Glocks you want. One is not enough. I have 3 so far, a 20, 23, and 29. And model number has nothing to do with the size of a Glock. The smaller the number the older the design. The 17 being the oldest, and the number was chosen because magazines for it hold 17. After that Glock made a fully automatic version of the 17, and called it the 18. Next was 19, then 20 and so on.

ACP Automatic Colt Pistol

Glock has no safety???? Yes it does. It has the same safety every revolver has. It is a trigger. If you don't want it to shoot, don't pull the trigger. The safe action of the Glock will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.

The 21 in 45 ACP or the 22 40 S & W are both good choices. No one can advise you which is best for you, you must make that choice yourself. If you have a local shooting range, go there and see if they will let you beg or borrow one and try it out.

ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol.

Essentially, it meant the cartridge was a short cased, auto-loading pistol round developed for use originally in Colt's (then at the time) new automatic pistols.

.45 ACP is also known as .45 Auto.

I'm not a Glock fan so I don't know the second part of your question.

ACP means Automatic Colt Pistol.

Gun makers develop their own rounds and if they are successful with them, they get the benefit of having that name stick around for a long time.

As to the Glock, my opinion is that Glock makes an unsafe firearm because it has no safety.

Also, the Glock 9mm and smaller calbers are good shooters, but large caliber Glocks leave a lot to be desired. I'm not a Glock hater, I just think they are not as good as most people believe and I feel there's a lot of evidence to support that position.

Before you buy either a .45acp or 10mm, you need to shoot these calibers to make sure you can handle them. .45 is potent and 10mm is over-the-top for many people.
