Hi i'm new at fishing. The lake where we went today and yesterday is noted as having "abundant panfish". So we went out today with small hooks and tried bread. corn, and worms as bait. We didn't even get a bite! I am very discouraged as I have read people saying it is extremley easy to catch panfish. Any tips?

Here is what i do try finding a spot where some weeds on the bank go into the water. Then i cast out in front of and along side the weeds that are in the water i use nightcrawlers for bait go outside at night and water the ground and wait awhile go out with a flashlight and there will be tons just pick them up you have to be fast though lol anyways back to the answer i just keep casting a few feet in front of and alongside the weeds. Eventually a big one will come out and chomp you're bait. You seem patient though so good luck.

Fishes are normally sensitive to crowd on the shore or bank. They are scared from the river bank by disquietness.

Tips: Go fishing at most in a company of two when the bank is cool and quiet.
Go fishing around shady parts where the fishes are mostly cooling off.Especially when it is hot.

Be patient and dont jump around. As they would come out of hiding as soon as they get use to seeing you for a while.
