May is spawning time. Fish around rocks and downfall trees for bedding catfish. Also, jug anglers continue to catch large flathead catfish on live bait (bluegill is excellent). Smaller blue catfish and channel catfish will hit live minnows and stink baits.

Forget the pay lake! Ever heard of "jug fishing?" That's where you take 20 or so 1 liter capped bottles, attach a 3'-5' piece of strong line to the neck, a 1oz sinker in the middle part of the line, and a live bait hook. Bait with live bream (I use 4"-5" bream). Put your boat in at Fate Sanders Marina on J.Percy Priest Lake and spread the baited jugs in water about 6'-10' deep in the larger pockets off the main lake. Best time is at night. 15lb-35lb cat are common.

i exploit an egg weight on the backside of the line. i've got by no ability used a swivel yet, in basic terms pass some foot and, a a million/2 above the burden and, tie a double knot so as that I even have approximately 8 to 10 inches of chief(tie the hook on first). i exploit a 2.0 circle hook. I additionally discovered some years in the past that in case you get an previous pair of hose or, panty hose and, shrink them into 3" squares, you could positioned the liver in those and, in basic terms run the tip of Your hook with the aid of the 4 corners. Your bait will proceed to exist plenty longer. this works with stink bait, too.

If its big Flatheads you are after then live bluegill is the way to go, the next best thing is to use fresh cut bait.
