for those that knows what bumpfiring means,like with an ak47 ,ar15,or an sks,which gun would stand up the best with rapid fire it would produce? with pratice how many rounds a minute could a person hope to achieve? i heard it was dangerous to do this with a sks rifle.

I want to buy a pistol in the next couple of months. I want a good concealed weapon, nock down power, and safety. I have been in the military for 3 years and know how to handle, clean, take apart, and not kill my self with one. what i dont know is which brand to buy. I wanted a springfield XD but friends say no its made in brazil, no its plastic yadda yadda. He tells me to get a glock. I like the glock 23. In your minds, whats a good concealed, heavy hitting, selfdenfense pistol? Any help would be great. Thanks ;)

I fish in michigan, sometimes the ohio river. I have heard that you do really when fishing with homemade bait. I know the standard cut fish and cheese, but is there any other suggestions? Maybe grocery store bait? Which bait will attract big/ small fish? Any information would help me, thanks!

Looking for an alternative to the Orion Smoke Flares. I want to make my own smoke flare or smoke signal that I can use in emergencies when I go into the wilderness. I don't care what color the smoke is but would prefer a non-natural color like orange, green, or purple so if people see it they don't think it is a campfire. I know I can make smoke bombs out of salt peter and sugar but will this mixture create the amount of smoke that I am looking for? The main thing I am looking for is a good volume of smoke.

I've been doing allot of reading on handguns online, and like all things online, I've found conflicting information. My question regards racking the slide, and exactly what that does.

From what I understand, in order to fire a single action handgun. After you insert the magazine, you have to rack the side in order to put a round in the chamber. Is that correct?

So that would lead me to assume that if you were to insert a mag in a SA gun, and then pull the trigger, nothing would happen. Is that correct?

On the other hand, if you were to do the same with DA gun, it would fire without having to rack the slide. Is that correct?

Also, wouldn't having to rack the slide be a saftey feature in itself? If you dropped it, it couldn't accidently discharge. Would you need any saftey feature besides this? Assuing you're not carrying it ******.

I have an old Marlin .22 rifle. It is a semi-automatic. I recently bought a scope for the rifle. I have always used open sights when I went shooting with my dad as a kid and have never used a scope. I want to start going to the range and shoot again but I would like to know how to sight in my scope before going. I have seen new laser products on the market that fit into the barrel and shines on the target so you can adjusts your scope accordingly. However, when I have talked to a few sportsmen, they indicated not to use these products. What is your recommendation?

i own a ruger 10/22 but i wil need 2 put about 250 in it b4 shotting good .920 20" barrel and overmolded stock and 18x scope but the savage comes w/ a heavy barrel and free floating stock the savage is about 150 and the scope will only coast about 80$

From what I have read, people state they like Glocks better because they are Glocks, which isn't really a valid reason.

I have heard that KAHRs are pricey, but the difference doesn't seem to be an issue--for me.

I realize the Glocks may have more magazine capacity; yet, the KAHRs are lighter and thinner.

With this said, what is the best CCW Weapon, KAHR PM9 or Glock 19, 26 or 34?

One would know that I am in the market for a 9 mm, but I would appreciate reasons for another caliber.

Again, price is not an issue; CCW is....

I will appreciate any experienced advice and will ignore the Anti-NRA people and/or kids.
