gun,

I have acquaintances who practice this way of expending ammunition. They claim it to be fun...it's their weapon and ammunition, therefore they have the right to shoot it however they please.

I think it's just wasting ammunition.

I'm much more impressed with a shooter who makes every shot count.

I have never seen someone do this with an AR-15. I think there is just not enough recoil. The biggest problem with that kind of shooting is that you will roast your barrel. With an AK who cares? I am not sure why they rifle the barrel. The most I have seen is maybe 3-4 a second.

In all the times I have see bump firing I have never seen anyone come close to achieving control of the weapon. Really I have never seen anyone hit anything. They are not off by feet they are off by 10's yards. That is dangerous SKS or not

If you are refering to the use of a reactive trigger system such as "Hellfire", which creates a static force upon the trigger causing it to be "pulled" by the finger automatically simulating full-automatic fire, I wouldn't recomend it for an SKS. The SKS action was never intended for the stresses of full-auto fire. These devices seem to work fairly well on AR-15;s and AK-47 rifles, although accuracy suffers considerably. A little legal "Rock and Roll" fun never hurt anyone, but the ammo costs mount rapidly.
One warning though. If you want to use a reactive trigger, BUY ONE. DO NOT make your own. They cost about 35-50$.It will come with a BATF letter saying it is an approved device. KEEP IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARE SHOOTING! This could keep you out of jail, as well as prevent serious legal difficulties. Home-made reactive triggers are NOT approved by the BATF, and could constitute posession of an unregistered machinegun! A man was prosecuted not long ago for using a shoestring... THAT'S RIGHT, A SHOESTRING, looped around the trigger and the bolt handle to create a Home-made Static-Reactive-Trigger. The BATF wizards determined the SHOESTRING constituted a machinegun! Crazy, man.

ak-47 all the way no cleaning needed. it will go till you burn the handgaurds off or melt the barrel. AR's can bump but are so dirty they start to fail very fast. sks are safe to bump I'm including a link to show you. also if you want to watch tons of videos of people doing this, type in bump firing on your search engine you should find alot of videos for seeing bumping. here is one link just remember make sure you are in a safe place because they can start to get away from you and all can be dangerous if not done safely

The practice of this technique is limited to those poeple who cannot hit a target at 100 yards (much less 300) and it is a great waste of increasingly expensive ammo.

Practice actually shooting, then ask those friends to a shoot-off, making the bets ahead of time.

In the Vietnam war it was referred to as “Saturation Fire” .
In the Iraq war it was referred as “Shock and Awe”.
You call it “Bump-firing”.
Where in fact all 3 are nothing but a Spray and Pray operation that yields little results and cost a lot.
The true terror of the battle field is and will always be “The One Well Aimed Shot” better known as the Sniper, by the time you know your in range, it’s too late.
