Ah' I would not suggest usin' it, transducer can become loose (BASS fisherman's response) and dependin' where your mountin' it, could give ya' problems with leakage. I have ours mounted on the stern (keep distance between outboard prop) w/ silicone and have not had any problems for over 4 years of constant use! If you are mounting in the bottom of the boat, use plumbers putty to make a barrier around your trnsducer , put the trnsducer in the oval shape make sure it fits inside it and completely touches the boat, then fill the area inside the putty with the transducer in it with clear epoxy, let it set up and I just leave the putty alone , hope it helps, I mount all mine that way and never have a problem.

it relies upon on some issues. First which transducer you have. For shallower water you pick to apply a 2 hundred MHz transducer. then it additionally relies upon on the intensity of the water you're in. you're in fact finding at a cone ranging from the transducer increasing outward to the backside of the physique of water. The deeper the water the broader the cone gets. frequently the fish or the marks on the demonstrate screen will flow left to suited as your boat strikes. you apart from would would desire to think with regard to the fee at which you're shifting to confirm approx. the place the fish certainly are. verify you handbook for what transducer you have and it is going to offer you a concept how the cone certainly progresses.

I wouldnt suggest it. You need to use a marine based silicone for it.
