I just got a fly rod from my wife for our anniversary, and I know nothing about flyfishing(or spin casting for that matter). The kit I got says it has everything I need to hit the water today. But I have to tie all the lines together, and to the reel. I'm not scared of knots, but don't know which of them to use. I went to a fly fishing demo a couple of years ago, and think I remember the idea of how to cast. But I'm lacking in experiance. Are there any Fly fishing sites designed for beginers. Not sites telling you how to land the big one, or how to tie flies like a pro, but something for a person a little wet behind the ears to get a start?

When we go fishing we usually just cast close to shore and reel back into the boat. We get quite a few smaller bass (like one pounds) but we really want to catch some bigger ones. I've tried casting out into the deep part of the lake and never even get a bite.
Where do you cast to find the big bass?

I was recently at a shooting range and the guy next to me found a few stripper clips of 7.62x39 in his bag that he didn't know he had. He had no use for them and noticed that I was shooting an AK-47 and offered them to me. When i got home I checked them out and saw they had no caliber markings but obviously were 7.62x39mm. The shells are a wierd color and on the bottom says 351 93, dos anyone know what brand this is or anything about them.
