the only way to learn how to fish is by asking ques to build your knowledge of the sport.the best bait to use is to know what the fish are hitting on in that location wheather it be salt or fresh water.you obtain this knowledge by asking the local fishermen what is biting and what are they biting on.species and baits vary from season to season especially in salt water.soon you will obtain the patterns and baits to use at various times throughout seasons.eventually you will build up this knowledge and store it away in your knowledge of the sport.in time you will develope the knowhow to coordinate seasons and baits just by what youve learned to incompass a whole years season of fishing.i started asking at 8 yrs old now i give ansewers.im 58

100 dollar bills if you are fishing for bikini babes.
Do a search on Yahoo for the fish you are hoping to catch, they'll let you know what bait to use to catch it.
Check with other people at the spot you selected what to fish with. Be prepared to be confused!.
Good luck

For freshwater, nothing beats a nice lively leech or nightcrawler. My saltwater fishing experience is quite limited, so I couldn't say about that. Maybe shrimp or crab.

2 issues i found artwork super with fish guts and carcasses. the 1st is it makes very good craw fish bait. the 2d is chum and right that's what I do. I take the heart, heads and in spite of, placed them in a discarded ( do not laugh, this works properly ) pair of panty hose cloth, freeze it and then use it as a chum block. The frozen block melts slowly yet releases the fragrance and maintains to be on the backside properly.
