My friend is all into judo, he says I should come because it will help my back, however I don't think it will. I was involved in a car accident 2 1/2 years ago and still trying to get my back feeling good again. Can someone tell me, or show me infomation showing that judo will help/not help? Thanks.

This has interest me for some time now. Ever since I heard the possiblity of dishing out a few grand to train along side the monks in the monestaries. Still unsure if I want to embark on this endevour (I love my beef and warm bed too much) but it would be an interesting experiance.

Anyone with any information would be greatly appericiated. As always the one with the most in depth response and sited sources wins the points.

I found out our (married w/a kid) sensei was fooling around with TWO women (one of whom was also married w/kids). His wife was a student too (friends with both OW). Both women were students and progressed quickly up the ranks. Once the news broke, we all understood why they progressed so fast. HOWEVER, sensei told me I had to lose weight before I could get MY next belt. Huh? Because I checked off weight mgmt as a goal when I 1st joined, he said. Tuition was $5K a year, which he was happy to let me continue paying forever as a green belt. Um, no thanks. I quit. When I told a few ppl this, they acted like I should have stayed. Would you have stayed? What would you have done?

It seems like crescent kicks might be the most worthless strike out there, except for maybe reverse crescent kicks. Are any traditional martial arts schools still teaching this ridculous nonsense? If so, what's the point?

I don't think that a person that is certified by a "real organization" is automatically a good /real instructor.
Many WTF/ITF TKD teachers open McDojos. My instructors that I studied with in Taiwan and Mainland China did not belong to any organization, yet were more competent. Any comments? Most of my classes were free........

I've been very active in the gym for a while now, I've always had fights all my life, and I've always been big. I see these pride fighters and UFC guys beat the hell out of people all the time, and I say to myself. "Just one time, just one time to test myself and see what I'm made of" Should I try? I mean I have the size and I'm 205 of muscle. What you guys think?

I need to get a GI for my jujitsu lessons and i have a few questions
First, do they help in the lessons (other than chokes)
Second, does getting choked by using the GI hurt
Finally, what should you wear under the GI, i know you can wear a t-shirt, but should you wear boxers, or go commando?
