because there's a 50/50 chance that you gonna get shot when a gun is drawn and point at you. How about a knife also. Except when used by the authority ofcourse.

I'm interested in taking a martial art, and my main purpose is fitness/getting into shape, but I'd also like something that would come in handy in case I need to defend myself (but not necessarily to "whoops ***" or hurt the other person). What do you recommend?

I'm referring to the defense style. I have always wanted to learn to defend myself without a weapon. I have never studied any of it but my dad was good when he was young. What do you think? Are there any suggestions for a specific type?

There is this guy at school who wants to fight me and I know im going to loose. My older brother who does Takwondo said I should wear his protective gear, he made me put it on under my clothes and it wasn't obvious I was wearing it. I think this would be a bit like cheating but this guy fights dirty and will easily beat me. I know everyone is going to say be the better person and walk away but I need to do this because he has being spreading lies about my mum who recently died. What should I do?

If so, I'm looking to begin Muay Thai classes. Currently, I have some 14 oz boxing gloves, hand wraps, and jump ropes. Are these enough to start classes with? The reason I'm asking is because I'm short on money for the time being and I don't feel like waiting until I have enough money to buy all the necessary equipments.

Second, what are the classes usually like for beginners?

Lastly, any general advice you'd like to share with a new person into the MA?

thanks
